Biography

Jacoline Loewen has built wealth management for banks and asset managers. She has opened new markets and understands asset management at the highest levels of Canadian business. Her career spans Deloitte management consulting, Investec Bank's international growth, Crosbie & Company in mergers and acquisitions, and a thirteen-year partnership at Loewen & Partners family office, where she sourced and structured private equity transactions across Canadian private companies. Jacoline worked for many years with UBS Bank (Canada), running the wealth management business development, where she worked with highly successful executives, high-net-worth individuals and their families, family offices, foundations, and SMEs. Jacolines has expertise in board director roles, business transitions, exits, and working with asset managers to build long-term wealth for clients.

Jacoline understands the changes experienced by business owners and their families. She has acted as a guide for their complex decisions and what really matters to them and their wealth.

Jacoline is on the board of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, The McMichael Art Gellery, The Fraser Institute and the Board of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD SWO) and holds the ICD.D designation from the University of Toronto.

She was chair of the board of OCAD Catalyst, was a founding board member of the Private Capital Markets Association of Canada (PCMA) — an organization she helped establish to bring structure and credibility to Canada's private capital ecosystem. She was a Director of The Atmospheric Fund, she chaired the investment committee overseeing $100M in AUM with a mandate in impact investing.

She holds a BA in International Relations from McGill University and an MBA from the University of the Witwatersrand, where her thesis was published by Cambridge University Press. She has lectured at Ivey, Ryerson, and Rotman, served as honorary director of the Rotman School MBA IMC program, and is a regular contributor to the Globe & Mail.

In 2017, the Ticker Club recognized her with the #1 Stock Market Forecast. She was ranked among the Top 100 family business influencers globally and selected as one of the Canadian Board Diversity Council's Diversity 50 board-ready candidates.

In 2018, Jacoline was recognized by her industry in 2017 when the Ticker Club awarded her #1 Stock Market Forecast. In 2018, she was ranked #6 on the Top 100 family business influencers on social media. She was selected for 50 diverse board-ready candidates in the Canadian Board Diversity Council’s Diversity 50.

Jacoline is the author of three best-selling books, recommended by universities. She is a guest columnist to the online platform of the Globe & Mail, served as a lecturer at Ivey, Ryerson and Rotman Universities, was an honorary director of the Rotman School of Management MBA IMC program, and a regular panelist on BNN: The Pitch.

Jacoline completed the Institute of Corporate Directors Education Program and has the ICD.D designation from the University of Toronto. She holds a BA in IR from McGill University and a MBA from the University of the Witwatersrand, her MBA thesis was published by Cambridge University UK.
