Biography

Jacoline Loewen works with highly successful executives, high-net-worth individuals and their families, family offices, foundations, and SMEs. Jacolines has expertise in board director roles, business transition, exits, and then working with asset managers to build long-term wealth.

Jacoline understands the changes that impact the business owners and their families and helps guide their complex decisions, and incorporate these into what really matters to them to focus their wealth..

As a navigator to each client’s family blueprint, she focuses on the client's financial and human capital. Jacoline works with family enterprises and family offices on governance and generational transition. Jacoline draws from a broad experience and a range of disciplines and practices, blending systems thinking with traditional consulting frameworks and wealth management strategies, to help families navigate the complexities of wealth and family dynamics. Jacoline works with clients to define goals, improve communication, and establish structures, practices, and relationships required to achieve lasting success across generations.

Jacoline began her career with Deloitte, in management consulting. She went on to work with Investec Bank as it grew globally. She was a partner with Loewen & Partners family office from 1999 to 2012 where she brought private equity investment into private companies. She also worked for Crosbie, in Mergers & Acquisitions.

Jacoline is passionate about entrepreneurship and has engaged in decades of volunteer activities with entrepreneurs, as they scale and grow, She serves as Director of The Atmospheric Fund ($100M AUM) and former Chair of the investment committee with a focus on Impact investing, the Chair of OCAD University Co advisory board, judge for Ivey Business Competition, judge for IIAC Top Under 40 competition, judge for TIE, was director and founding board on the Private Capital Markets Association board (PCMA.) She is a director on the Board of the Institute of Corporate Directors, (ICD SWO.)

In 2018, Jacoline was recognized by her industry in 2017 when the Ticker Club awarded her #1 Stock Market Forecast. In 2018, she was ranked #6 on the Top 100 family business influencers on social media. She was selected for 50 diverse board-ready candidates in the Canadian Board Diversity Council’s Diversity 50.

Jacoline is the author of three best-selling books, recommended by universities. She is a guest columnist to the online platform of the Globe & Mail, served as a lecturer at Ivey, Ryerson and Rotman Universities, was an honorary director of the Rotman School of Management MBA IMC program, and a regular panelist on BNN: The Pitch.

Jacoline completed the Institute of Corporate Directors Education Program and has the ICD.D designation from the University of Toronto. She holds a BA in IR from McGill University and a MBA from the University of the Witwatersrand, her MBA thesis was published by Cambridge University UK.
